How does Velmo approve suppliers? |
| |
We have a great deal of experience working with manufacturers across the globe
while buying high precision products for various industries in North America. To make Velmo's Approved Vendor List, manufacturers must have proper quality accreditation certificates. We prefer TS16949 and QS9000 suppliers over ISO9001:2000. However, ISO9001:2000 is the minimum requirement for the supplier to pass this first step of approval.
As a part of the Vendor Approval Process, we accommodate visits to applying supplier facilities. The manufacturer must be able to demonstrate Quality Control programs that meet Velmo standards of operation. If approved, the supplier is added to our Approved Vendor Database.
We rate our suppliers by history of their performance, our aim is to ensure that the products we purchase are reliable and of the highest quality. Manufacturers should have a research and development program to continually improve their products and incorporate new technology. These improvements ensure maximization of our collective resources.

How do you keep track of the quality at your end? |
| |
With in-house engineers and technicians on site for this purpose. Products are
supplied by manufacturers who have quality accreditations, however, our engineers ensure that quality consistently meets standards and specifications by re-inspecting the products. We provide PPAP level 3 documents to customers upon request.

Do you have offices in other countries from where you import? |
| |
To keep our costs very competitive in the world market, we do not invest in offices in other countries. Rather, we do have representatives who inspect and ensure the quality of the products. Manufacturer Reps also assist us in removing the language barrier while dealing with different markets other than those in the English speaking regions.

Why your costs are so competitive? |
| |
| • Global sourcing
• Large volume business to vendors, who in turn spread their overhead on their total sales
• Buy raw materials in bulk to ensure best value pricing
• Offer three year service contract with a Conditional Price Reduction Program

Our Quotation is generally based on FOB Mississauga, Ontario. For new customers and large orders, we prefer a letter of credit or 30% advance. Once the relationship is developed, we review terms and may extend to Net 30 days.
